Christmas Presents

December 3, 2009

I just want to go down on record as in favor of Christmas presents.  I love giving presents, especially to my wife Kirsi.  It’s not about getting her something she wants or needs…I’m looking to surprise and delight her.  The best gifts are the ones she doesn’t expect, doesn’t ask for, doesn’t know about, and says “Eric loves you.”

Two rules we set to make this work:

  1. A low budget…typically somewhere under $20 per person.
  2. No requests for gifts will be honored.  If you ask for something, you won’t get it.

If times are lean and you’re not sure what to do about Christmas gifts this year, consider using your money to pay off your credit card bills and come up with an alternative plan for blessing those you love.  Money can’t buy the look of surprise on your loved one’s face when they open their new blanket with sleeves.

Kirsi…if you are reading this I want a new Brutale.
