Goodbye Jeremiah

May 25, 2010

Greatness in the kingdom is defined by service to others for the glory of God.

This week we say goodbye to a young man who put on a clinic in true greatness here in OC.  Thanks JP!  You set the bar high by staying low. You’ll be missed.  Go do it again in Montana!

Everyone feel free to chime in and leave a comment below.

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.  (Philippians 1:3–5 ESV)

This goodbye will be a tough one – we all love you Jeremiah and have designated you an unofficial Card

Jeremiah,
You gave me my first ride to SGOC. Your words were comforting to me my first day in California. Moving out here was a weird transition for me and you truly helped me, but I don’t think you realized it.
God bless you friend.

Brian Chima.

What a blessing it has been to know you. I still have high hopes that there could be a slot for you at LSA in the future. By the way you can’t leave until you find a replacement offering counter.

**sigh**
This is bittersweet, dear friend. Our hopes and prayers for your future are being answered…in God’s way and in His timing.
You hold a very special place in the hearts of the Marshalls. We all love you, Jeremiah, and are praying for you to be delighted in God’s best for you.
We haven’t seen you as much as we used to for some strange reason. (?) You’ve been weaning us! :) Seriously, Montana is just up the road. We can’t wait to visit you in your rugged new wilderness.

God’s blessings to you.

Karen

Jeremiah,

I remember being so thrilled when you moved to OC and then got plugged into SGOC! I knew you would be such a gift to this church, as you were to Grace Church in San Diego. Thank you for the way you have lived your life – serving with all your might, digging into whatever God puts before you and then trusting HIm as He brings new assignments your way. I know the folks you begin building with in Montana will benefit greatly from knowing you! Eager to hear how the Lord uses you there!!

Thanks for your example. I’ve learned from your life, even from afar!

Jeremiah my darling I refuse to say good-bye. I did that, how many years ago, and thankfully you have kept coming back!!! I’m very proud of the fine and godly man you have become – I sound like your Mom – but then you know you are my second son and always will be! I love you and I am always praying for you!

Just make sure you come back again!
Dana

Jeremiah,
You’ve beena big part of the Cabral house over the past few years. Thank you for continuing to stay in touch and being part of our family. I’m always impressed with the way you are very purposeful in the way you seek counsel from those God has put around you. This shows an amazing amount of wisdom and humility from a man your age, and I’m sure that God will bless that. You are always in our thoughts and prayers. I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Hey Miah! We are going to miss you bro. I am so grateful for your support thru out the church planting process. What a dude! Your support for the church and especially the Davis’ family was a significant part in seeing the church in OC come to fruition. Thanks for your love for the Lord and his church! We’ll be praying that you get plagged into a solid church for the glory of God!
Come back and see us!
Lynn

Hi Jeremiah,

You are a living example of this verse: “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And Your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”- Matt. 6:2-4
There are MANY times when I saw you serve the Cabral’s faithfully, persistently, with so much joy and absolutely drawing no attention to yourself. You were very quick to see a need and quietly take care of it, whether it was helping around the house, driving the kids to their events, or providing a listening ear. You were an incredible blessing to them during a time of hardship with Dana’s cancer. When I saw you serving this family, I felt that I was in the presence of true greatness. May the Lord use you in increasing measure in Montana for His glory!
With much love and respect,
Leslie

Jeremiah,

We didn’t spend much time together but your generosity touched me. Your a solid bro. Thanks for the use of your car when you went out of town. Still blows me away. I was new to SGOC and you recognized my need. Be blessed in all you do!!

Peace,
RC
